Ah, you and me both, Mesquite Mosquito. My friends like to invite me along for outdoor excursions, because my presence guarantees that the REST of them won’t get bitten once. Grrr.
In a happy coincidence, I was just reading this article about “mosquito-magnet people” a few days ago. In summary, seems like smell and sight are the big attractants. So… just change the way you look and smell, and VOILA! Simple, no?
If you’re looking for a way to repel/deter the little buggers-on-wings, without resorting to frequent use of DEET, you might want to consider “natural” bug-repellent products that contain oil of lemon eucalpytus — the CDC rates those as effective in comparison to DEET. In my personal experience, the “natural” repellents do work, but they don’t make the mosquitos flee in terror, so you’ll still have them hovering around you without biting you, like a 12-year-old boy getting up the courage to ask a girl to prom. :)
No worries about my inbox — I was just thrilled to see the bottom of it for 5 minutes!
